SpiderConnect or SpiderCRS, which one is good for me?

You propose a booking portal (or a booking engine) and you want to work with static content and availability data from hotels but you don't know which Hotel-Spider solution is right for you? Here are the key elements that will help you to make your decision.

SpiderConnect

SpiderConnect is made for you if:

  • you already have a database to store hotels data such as descriptions, pictures and availabilities and rates
  • you provide hotels with an extranet where they (or your team) can change the descriptions, pictures, rates, inventories, etc.
  • your system can receive XML messages for rate and availability updates for each room types and for each day separately
  • your system can send XML messages to transfer reservations to Hotel-Spider

How will it work once everything is done:

  • your portal will appear on Hotel-Spider extranet among the other channels that we propose
  • when a Hotel-Spider client hotel has signed a contract with you, they will be able to activate the connection
  • after an initial synchronisation, you will starts receiving updates for ARI (Availability, Rate and Inventory) data as soon as a change occurs
  • when a reservation is made on your system, you send a message to Hotel-Spider that will notify the hotel and adjust the inventory for the concerned dates

Here is a schema representing the different players and their interactions:

How is the integration process:

  • after an initial phone call where we define different settings together, we provide you with a test property on our staging system
  • your development team can then integrate the API and make live test with the test property
  • once everything is ready the interface is released to production and hotels can start to be connected
  • we don't charge you for this integration (except if you need more support than usual)

You can find more information on the SpiderConnect API here.

SpiderCRS

SpiderCRS is made for you if:

  • you don't have any hotel database yet or you want to drop your existing one
  • you don't have any existing extranet that permit hotels to define their rates, inventories or the static content (pictures, descriptions, ...)
  • you want to have only one central interface for all the hotel data and don't want to multiply different integrations with all the existing channel-managers (or property management systems)
  • you don't want to invest time in developping all the business logic linked to the standard booking rules and conditions required on the hospitality business

How will it work once everything is done:

  • we will create a private instance of the Hotel-Spider CRS that will be tailored to your brand
  • you will thus be able to propose a state of the art solution to handle the hotels data including
    • a CRS that cope with all the standard booking rules and conditions used by hoteliers
    • existing connections to channel managers and PMS systems
    • an extranet for hotels that want to handle things manually
  • your time-to-market will be greatly reduced in comparison with the development of a home-made solution from scratch
  • you will be able to focus on your portal development while all the busy work of managing hotels data will be handled by SpiderCRS

Here is a schema reprensenting how SpiderCRS integrates with other players:

How is the integration process:

  • once we have validated together that SpiderCRS is the right solution for you, we will send you a contract explaining the conditions and price of the solution
  • when we get the signed contract back, we will create you a test access so that your development team can start to work on the integration right away
  • in parallel, we will start the setup process of your branded installation
  • some third-party services are needed for the CRS operation: you will have to create accounts on your side
  • once everything is done, you will be able to enter the first hotels in the system and directly start to sell them on your portal
